Here's a Video of Joe Edeleman. Teacher, Photog. If interested in a Portrait, either learning how to take or wanting a Photog to take yours.
Many people, Most, just don't have portraits made any more. Digital easier to use cameras and cell phones have heavily dented the market. BUT..... unless your wanting to break into a very, very hard field as a Photographer, you don't have the gear, time or experience for a quality Picture. Family Engagement, Wedding photos or landscapes, sights, art, do look pretty good on your walls. I recommend a 11x14, matted with a 2 inch border, mounted in a frame. Window box, blocks, and a myriad of frames, digital frames, are all available. Something that can be passed on for generations. Yes, generations. I have pictures, black and white, from 66 years ago. many even older. Today's technology of inks, papers, will literally make them last, a 100 years, minimum, I kid you not.
I see so many people taking and keeping their photos on cell phones. Fine, but ever drop your phone in water? Loose? Those favorite shots are gone forever. Even copying to a disk, digital Photos will fade in time. So, what's the answer? PRINT, have albums made.
